含代名詞之句型(八)
 

... one ... the others ...

說明︰此句型意為“一個／一些…其餘…”。用於限定的三者以上。
 

1. We have 30 students in our class; one passed the exam, and the others (=the rest) all failed.

我們班上有三十位學生，只有一位通過考試，其餘都不及格。

2. Of the 40 students, some do well in study, and the others are playing around.

 四十個學生中，有一些功課很好，其餘的都很混。

3. Some of the boys were late, but all the others were in time for the meeting.

 男孩子中，有一些遲到了，但其餘的人都及時趕上開會。
 

..., some ..., others ...

說明︰此句型意為“一些…一些…而另一些…”。用於非限定的眾多群，相當於“some ... some ... some ...”。
 

1. People vary in taste; some love music, some enjoy taking pictures, and still others are fond of climbing mountains.
   
   每個人嗜好不同，有人喜歡音樂，有人喜歡攝影，還有些人喜歡爬山。

2. Society is made up of a variety of people; some are good, others (are) bad, and still others (are) in between.
   　　
   社會是由形形色色的人組成。有些人很好，有些人很壞，也有些人介乎兩者之間。

3. There are many people in the park; some are walking, others are jogging, and still others are doing exercises. 　
   
   公園裡有很多人，有的在散步，有的在慢跑，還有的在做操。
    

Of all (the) ..., ...

說明︰此句型意為“在所有…之中…”。all 之後有 the，表示“所有這些…”，是特定的觀念；all 之後沒有 

the，表示“所有的”，是泛指的觀念。
 

1. Of all the fibers now used by man, a very large percentage is man-made.

現在人類所使用的所有纖維之中，有很大的百分比是人造的。

2. Of all books, the Bible seems to be read most widely.  
   
   在所有的書中，聖經是最廣泛地被閱讀的。

3. Of all the students in our school, Tom is mathematical genius.

在我們學校所有的學生之中，湯姆是數學天才。
