什麼是 Dry January? 

dry 在這指的是不喝酒的意思。新的一年，許多人都會訂下新年新希望 (New Year's resolution)，通常在12月的節慶月 (the holiday season)，多數人都有很多的應酬活動，喝的酒也比較多，所以在新的一年，許多人會試著健康一點，挑戰一整個月不喝酒(give up on alcohol for 31 days)，於是就有了 Dry January 。

近幾年，純素 (vegan) 風氣興起，Veganuary 也蔚為流行。Veganuary，是 vegan 與 January 的結合，就是整個一月不吃肉，改吃以蔬菜為主的飲食 (plant-based diet)，甚至不使用動物製品(animal products)。

當然，有些人的一月比較著重在於自我成長(self-improvement) 類的新年新希望(New Year's resolution) 像是多運動、存錢 (save money)、或者減少螢幕時間 (reduce screen time)。
