mini essay
Both politicians and scientists exert enormous influence on the modern world, yet their power operates in distinct domains.
Politicians must possess the authority to marshal necessary resources and make decisive calls at life-and-death moments, such as negotiating peace or managing pandemics.
They act as arbitrators, balancing conflicting interests and ensuring democracy functions.
Scientists, however, influence the world through intelligence and rationality.
Their discoveries reshape economies, healthcare, and even the environment.
By harnessing the superior power of technology, scientists turn abstract ideas into tangible progress that redefines human existence.
Although political leadership determines immediate directions, scientific innovation sustains long-term transformation.
In my view, scientists have the greater influence, because while politicians govern what exists, scientists create what never existed before—a power that permanently alters the conditions of life itself.
