Professor’s Question:
In modern society, many people are expected to handle multiple tasks at the same time, such as replying to messages while working, or listening to lectures while taking notes and browsing the internet.
Some believe that multitasking is a necessary and useful skill, while others argue that it reduces efficiency and increases the risk of mistakes.

What do you think?
Is multitasking generally beneficial or harmful in academic or work settings?
Why or why not?

Student A:
I think multitasking is mostly beneficial because it reflects the reality of modern life.
People often have to respond to emails, attend meetings, and complete projects at the same time.
Being able to switch between tasks quickly helps us save time and stay productive.
In many situations, such as office work or studying, multitasking is not only common but also unavoidable.

Student B:
I disagree.
Multitasking makes people tired more easily and increases the chance of making mistakes.
When someone tries to do several things at once, their attention is divided, and the quality of each task usually becomes worse.
In demanding work or study situations, it is often better to focus on one task at a time instead of doing many things poorly.
語料
1. Distracted
2. Generating more errors
3. Stress could pile up and crash
4. Questionable quality
5. Burnout rate

• 引出 Distracted(分心):

• 引出 Generating more errors(產生更多錯誤)

Stress could pile up and crash → 壓力累積與崩潰風險
Stress could pile up and crash(壓力可能累積並導致崩潰)

• 引出 Questionable quality(品質令人懷疑)

• 引出 Burnout rate(職業/學習倦怠率)
